Family. Health. Knowledge.
These are the core values at OvalEye Web Solutions. I work with my parents, who have owned and operated the company since 2006, with me joining in towards the end of last year post college graduation and backpacking in Europe. In college I walked everywhere and made a point of getting away from school work to go for a run or take a dance class. Since the transition from school to working out of my home I have not been as inclined to get outside and run, or to take the time to go to the gym or take a dance class. Furthermore, my house is small, the most I commute for work is from my bedroom, past my living room, and into my office; I am missing the walking part that kept me motivated and excited to get somewhere. So, while I feel as though I am pretty focused on my family, by working closely with my parents and having time for my husband, and excited about learning new things by being employed in a fairly new job, my health is feeling the repercussions of this new lifestyle.
My mother asks me every other day- have you gotten out of the house and into the gym? or -what have you done for exercise today? I get annoyed by the constant reminders and their associated guilt, but truthfully when you spend a large number of hours behind a desk, and especially when working from home as I do, you really need to make it a point of scheduling some type of physical activity in your day. My parents work out everyday at 6am and have since I was a freshman in high school. Mom says that above the benefits to your health and physique, to remember that a good workout gets your day off to a positive start and the endorphins make you feel better.
Working with clients and providing them with the best service possible, it is important that you are
in turn your best self that day— meaning get out of the house and get your blood moving! Getting in daily exercise is my number one goal for next week to be begin building my new healthy habits.
