I have fallen head over heels for Blip.fm
What an ingenious idea for connecting people! The first day I set up my account a spent a few minutes searching through songs, choosing “Let the River Run” by Carly Simon from the movie Working Girl with Melanie Griffin- a favorite movie of mine. The song is super cheesy, but worth a good laugh and really does inspire me to get going. After that I found a few other “DJs” with similar music tastes and in turn found new music I love. Technically, Blip.fm is not a total waste of time. It is fun to look through. A “blip” is “a combination of 1) a song and 2) a short message that accompanies it.” You can then have your blips sent out via other social networking sites you belong to like Twitter. Blip then becomes less of a time waste and more of a productivity aid, creating playlists that get you motivated, keep you focused, or encourage a positive mood or outlook on the day. The landlord.
Not a great use of company time… but hey, it keeps my spirits up. Like Blip.fm, Funny or Die is good for a laugh which in turn keeps me motivated. If you haven’t watched the Landlord, it is a must. Funny or Die has put out a few other videos that have attracted mainstream media attention lately. The website was founded by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, visit the site to find out more about it. I’ve added the Landlord below for your work at home pleasure. Here’s to finding the hidden goodness in your own home office time wasters.
