Working from home can definitely have it’s advantages and equal disadvantages. Being a 24 year old female who enjoys being social- the quiet, solitary environment of working from home can at times be a bit much. To combat being detached from human interaction I find the following helps: Skype, Blip.fm, Twitter, and any coffee shop with wifi.
However, my favorite SOHO fix for loneliness during the day is my cat. My husband gave him to me for our first wedding anniversary to actually keep me company while I was in college and would be home studying during the day. We named the cat Buster Bluth after one of our favorite characters on, arguably the best show that has been on TV, Arrested Development.
Depending on how long I go without conversation I will find myself asking Buster’s opinion on proposals and inquiring on how he is doing, or what he plans to do for his evening. I’m not sure how healthy chatting with my cat really is, but it does the job. Busty is a good listener for the most part too.

I am a SOHO Wife and write this blog for women working out of a small office or home office that are looking for inspiration in developing and sustaining a healthy SOHO lifestyle.
