Trying and To Do Lists

Post image for Trying and To Do Lists

I watched I Love You Man (funny movie!) the other night and noticed a line I hadn’t picked up before (line above). I wrote it down on a sticky note today and posted it onto my white board next to the ‘To Do List.’

So much of what we do and who we are is affected by our frame of mind that I think the same applies when saying or thinking you will ‘try’ to do this, or that.  I have a ‘try to get this done today mentality’ for about fifty percent of what I write down on my ‘To Do List’ everyday. I want to come at my days activites with more gusto than that. I would rather focus on acutally doing a manageable amount of important activities that I can cross off the list, rather than ending the day with ten or so menial actions incomplete and left on my board for the next day.

What activities will you be DOING today? What actions will you ACCOMPLISH today?

Love to talk about to-do lists! :). I always make sure to have two seperate to-do lists. One for weekly tasks and one for daily tasks. I only bring over to daily what I know I can absolutely complete. It feels great to move more from my weekly todo list to the daily once I’ve completed everything. Also, if the daily list is complete, I don’t have nearly as much anxiety about the weekly. Hope that made sense! Hehe.
